H is for Home Alone-
Amita Ramanjaun is occupied with loads of papers she needs to have graded before Friday. She didn't enjoy correcting papers, nor do many teachers. Sitting on her couch, she had her music at a soft volume. She found herself dozing off, so she stood up and walked to her kitchen to get some coffee; she knew that she will be pulling an all nighter again.
While stirring up her coffee, she swore she just heard a crash. She whipped around, accidentally knocking her coffee mug right off the counter.
"Damn." She whispered, looking at the coffee that spilled on her jeans.
She looked around her kitchen for an object. She saw a pan on top of her stove, gripped the handle of it and slowly ventured into her apartment, aware that someone else is inside.
Gulping, she came into her living room. She stood there, looking around. She saw a lamp had tipped over, and her window is now open; the window had been shut earlier. She wished she wasn't on the first floor, she tried to get an apartment room up a few floors, but this was her best offer.
"Hello." She called out, terrified.
She heard a crash again, this time coming from her bedroom.
She grabbed her cell phone, before she was able to even consider on pushing the “call” button, a man came out from behind, slapping a hand over her mouth and knocking her to the ground.
While plunging to the ground, her pan dropped along with her phone. He had an accomplice, and his accomplice is the one making that had been making all the noise, to distract her so she wouldn't notice the other man that had come up from behind; startling her.
She kicked and wiggled, trying to get out from under the man that held her down hard to her wooden floor. But soon pain shot up through her side. She screamed when a blade had pierced her flesh. Tears burned her eyes that were closed tightly.
The second man walked down to her, grabbed her by her hair. The first man removed the blade and got off of her, letting the second man drag her across the floor. Amita kicked and screamed, trying to get loose from them. But she is too weak; two against one isn't a fair game.
The one who had her by her hair, threw her hard against the wall, crushing her from his own body; he is about two times bigger then her. Tears fell down her cheeks as her face was pressed into the wall now, back facing the men.
"Please, take whatever you want. Leave me alone." She sobbed.
"Nah pretty girl, you're the only thing we want." The man whispered in her ear.
She sobbed more.
He pulled her back from the wall, turned her around so she could face them, and his hands came around her throat, choking her. She tried to get out of his grip, but he is too strong for her to fight against, so she slowly passed out.
-------
"Amita." Charlie Eppes said, knocking on her door the next morning, "Rise and shine. The suns up, we're going to be late for breakfast. You didn't forget our breakfast with dad, Don and Larry did you?"
He pushed on her door a bit and it opened by itself. Charlie pushed it all the way open, finding her place trashed, as if a tornado had just swept through it.
"Amita." Charlie said, alarmed something had happened to her.
"Charlie." He heard a sobbing groan.
Charlie rushed through her apartment, and found her laying on the ground in front of her couch, beaten severely. Covered in blood, clothes ripped up, showing she had struggled to fight for her life, to survive the horror of madness from whoever did the damage to her, from last night.
"Oh god, Amita." Charlie gasped, grabbing his phone and called 911. Charlie dropped down next to her, feeling her shaking.
"Not so fast, professor." A man barked, startling Charlie when he got off the phone. He whipped around, seeing the two men in Amita's hall way, one sipping out of his water bottle.
"Please go, Charlie." Amita sobbed.
Charlie put his hands into fists, standing over Amita with his arms out-reached, "I'm not moving." He hissed, "If you do anything to me, you'll regret it because my big brother is in the FBI."
"You think that will stop us from killing you both?" The other man asked, one without a water bottle.
"Well, the ambulance will be here soon, along with the police and...."
The man back handed Charlie out of surprise. Charlie fell, crashing to the coffee table and rolled off on the other side of it, letting out a slight cough.
"Charlie." Amita sobbed more.
Charlie's cell phone started to ring, he looked up at the men, but a foot kicked him in the face next.
Charlie scrambled, grabbing Amita, pulled her off the ground, onto her feet. Charlie gave a kick to the man, hitting him in the stomach when he charged.
"Hello." Charlie answered his phone, "Don, I can't talk right now. Get to Amita's place, now."
Charlie hung up, pushing Amita behind him, grabbed a book and whacked it across the mans face. The man fell backwards, the second one charged at Charlie, grabbing onto him, and tossed him into the book shelf.
Amita looked around for her pan, she rushed over to it, picked it up and swung it over the side of the man's head.
The man fell over and passed out.
One down, one to go.
"Don will be here soon." Charlie said, looking around for the other guy, "Where's the other one?"
Sirens were soon heard along with shouts from Don and his team screaming 'FBI'.
Don stepped on the guys back, gun pointed down at him looking over to the others.
"Check the rest of the apartment." Don ordered.
"FBI!" Agent Colby Granger yelled, gun pointed at the second accomplice who tried escaping through Amita's bedroom, "Don't move, hands on your head, now."
David walked over, arrested the other as Agent Liz Warner was arresting the one Don had.
Amita had her arms wrapped around Charlie's waist, face nestled into Charlie's neck as Charlie rubbed her back, comforting her.
"You alright, sweetheart?" Don asked, rubbing Amita's back.
She nodded, clutching Charlie's dress shirt.
"I found her laying on the ground, as soon as I called an ambulance, a couple of them came out of nowhere and attacked me." Charlie explained, Don gripped Charlie's chin, checking out his deep cuts on his forehead.
"You'll be fine, Amita's the one that needs to go to the hospital." Don explained, "Paramedics are outside. Lets get you two cleaned up."
"Thank you, you don't know how relieved I am." Charlie thanked Don, "You called at a really good time."
Don smiled.
"Shut the hell up." David said to the man he held, the man had been blabbering off to David, making David angry and frustrated. Don looked to David then glanced to both the two men that had attacked Amita and Charlie.
Liz walked over to Amita and Charlie, then escorted them to the ambulance to get cleaned up. Amita smiled now, holding onto Charlie, knowing she is safe, thanks to him and his brother Don, along with Colby, David and Liz.
End.
